First built in 1935, the French colonial-styled Ha Long hotel is located on Bai Chay Street, a five-minute drive to Ha Long harbour.

Ha Long 1 hotel offers 23 rooms including 10 Deluxe Sea View, 12 Deluxe Garden View and 1 Deluxe Suite. All rooms are large, with high ceilings, comfortable beds, and heavy wooden shuttered doors that open onto a wide balcony running the length of the building.

The hotel has a large restaurant serving quite basic Vietnamese food.
